What is it?

Digital signage seems pretty straight forward right? It’s just a TV with a USB right? Well of course that’s not the case or else there wouldn’t be hundreds of companies dedicated to developing, manufacturing, software integration and maintaining digital signage. Between the four components that make up digital signage solutions (screens, media players, software and content) there are multiple companies who manufacture each one. So believe it or not, this market tends to be very fragmented and complicated.

Software Integration

Software is by far the most fragmented component of digital signage. The majority of national digital signage companies manufacture their own software, which has its benefits. These companies can provide packaged solutions for clients without much debate over whether it will work or not. Accordingly, the question is – is it the best solution for that particular client’s needs?

For that reason, the integration process is different. Everything begins with a conversation. Maybe the client owns a state-wide franchise and they are tired of the lengthy process that goes into changing just one printed sign. Perhaps their business is undergoing renovations and they want their loyal customers to be able to navigate the building. Or they own a restaurant whose prices fluctuate based on time of year and they are tired of reprinting menus. The point is it would be impossible for us to treat every client the same.

It’s our job to find the best combination of the four components to meet the client’s needs.

Cost?

The other issue that arises is cost. Based on our location in Western New York, many of our clients are local businesses that may not have the budget that major companies in New York City have. And we love that. We want our industries to have access to the same technologies as the metropolises of the world- but without the price tag. With this in mind, we organize the client’s needs and hit the marketplace for not only the most cost conscious solution, but the most effective.

Testing – Software Integration

Then begins the in-house testing. Sometimes these components integrate seamlessly- sometimes we need to spend some time exploring other options. However at the end of this process, we can deliver a personalized and cost-effective solution for each specific client.
