CREATING REMARKABLE EVENTS WITH DIGITAL SIGNAGE

Every event planner is looking for the latest and greatest to propel their event to the next level. They are always looking for ways to out-do the competition and out-do themselves. Look no further than digital signage, in that case.

DIGITAL SIGNAGE VIDEO WALLUnfortunately, there’s something less and less exciting about the prospect of digital signage at an event these days. Most of the time you’ll find a screen running a slide show. While those are a perfectly effective way of communicating with your guests- this article is not about that kind of digital signage. At Empire Digital Signs we have always held true to our mantra “it’s less about the screen and more about what you do with the screen.” How will you let your creativity spill into this sector in order to create the experience you envision?

Below are three examples of our favorite uses of digital signage, both interactive and standard, that have assisted in creating some truly captivating events.

Social Media Engagement Boards

It’s more important than ever to have guests talking about your event not only during, but before and after as well. That is not an easy feat. Let’s talk about how digital signage can take off some of that pressure and make social media engagement easier than it ever has been.

digital signagePeople like seeing themselves or their content on the big screen. So give the people what they want with a social media engagement board. Digital Signage software comes with the ability to create a beautifully laid out social media feed that people will be itching to see themselves on. Pick from any social sites that enhance your experience from Instagram to Twitter.

There are two options when it comes to social media feeds. You can run the organizations’ feed to show a “backstage” view of the event (this will only run one account) or pick a catchy hashtag and allow others to incorporate their voice in the mix (this will run everyone’s content that includes the hashtag).

The best part is you don’t need to pick between social media sites. Event planners by now understand the benefits of each site- so don’t choose. We’ve located key software such as LiveWall and TINT that allow you to combine all social media networks into one feed!

Interactive Wayfinding

interactive wayfindingOf course guests need to be able to find their way about your event, especially when it includes more than one room, or is a trade show style event. Mapping for events is not a new concept, but 3D wayfinding is. Gorgeous 3D renderings of your layout allow guests to select places of interest and enjoy a dynamic 30 degree flyover as the system guides you to your destination. These turn-by-turn directions can even be sent to a mobile device via text message, or integrated into an app format for directions on the go.

Can’t find a spot for 3D wayfinding in the budget? Find incremental cash by allowing key sponsors to purchase space or pop-ups on the wayfinder to drive more traffic to their booths. Pop-ups can be placed in key locations to give more information, such as “Stop by Booth #34 for fresh coffee and donuts”. Even include a photo!

Live Audience Response Systems

Perfect for trade shows, business events, political rallies or any event that planners might want some live feedback. It’s also a great way to keep your audience engaged! Audience response systems allow guests to participate in a live voting system via personalized keypads. Our system works a bit differently than most. Instead of votes being tallied after the voting is closed, our system let’s guests watch them come into a live tally. This allows for real-time decisions to be made based on audience responses.

Creativity is Key

The solutions above wouldn’t have been made possible without the creativity and inspiration from our design department, our clients and our peers. When it comes to digital signage, especially interactive signage, there isn’t much that is out of the realm of possibility. So put your thinking cap on and create engaging ways to utilize digital signage at your events. Most importantly, partner with a digital signage company who is dedicated to making your vision a reality.
